Renee Hopkins (photo left) is senior editor of Texas Enterprise and media relations manager at the McCombs School of Business. She was previously editor of the newsletter Strategy & Innovation and the InnoBlog at Innosight, a Boston-based management consultancy focused on innovation. Renee has also worked as a consultant specializing in consumer insights and idea generation. She created one of the first innovation blogs, IdeaFlow. Before going into consulting, Renee was a print journalist for many years, serving as managing editor of D magazine, news editor at The Tennessean in Nashville, and an editor and reporter who worked in both features and business news at The Dallas Morning News. Renee has an M.A. in Humanities from the University of Texas-Arlington, where she taught classes in both Freshman Composition and Informal Logic, and a B.A. in English from the University of Alabama.



Gwen Ishmael (photo left) is a senior business professional experienced in leading new product and service innovation, brand management, and marketing communication activities. Recognized authority on uncovering needs through the use of new and emerging methodologies, and translating resulting insights into innovative, actionable marketing platforms and strategies.

She launched and managed Insights & Innovation Group, a unique department dedicated to discovering unmet needs and developing innovative product, services, and communication concepts for medium to large B2C and B2C companies.

Developed the Imaginators® innovation community of 2000+ consumers in the U.S. and E.U., all of whom rank in the top 4% of the population in terms of creativity. Developed the Applied Creativity Process™ problem-solving approach for business use.

Created and launched numerous innovation- and insight-related services and approaches, including Innovation Springboarding, Brand Mapping via visual and mimetic analysis, and Iterative Innovation.



Stephen Shapiro (photo left) is one of the foremost authorities on innovation culture, collaboration, and open innovation.

During the past twenty years, his message to hundreds of thousands of people in forty countries around the world has remained the same: Innovation only occurs when organizations bring together divergent points of view in an efficient manner.

Over the years, Stephen Shapiro has shared his innovative philosophy in books such as 24/7 Innovation and The Little Book of BIG Innovation Ideas. He has also trained more than 20,000 consultants in innovation during his 15 year tenure with Accenture. His latest creation Personality Poker, has been used by more than 50,000 people around the world to create high-performing innovation teams.
