"Most ventures are driven by passion and belief. Most fail", writes CEO of Ready Founder Services, John Bradberry, in his results oriented and myth destroying book 6 Secrets to Startup Success: How to Turn Your Entrepreneurial Passion into a Thriving Business. The author describes the myths and mistakes that derail so many business startups, and replaces these common fallacies with proven techniques that will boost the entrepreneur's chances of success.
John Bradberry understands that new business owners are excited about their ventures. The author points out that the entrepreneur has passion for their business and an unwavering belief in their ideas. Unfortunately, writes John Bradberry, passion and belief are not enough to start and develop a successful business. The author even states that passion and belief may even be causes of startup business failures. At the same time, the author points to the readiness of the business person to be a business owner in the first place. In many cases, the entrepreneur may not be ready timing-wise, or even personally suited to being self employed. As John Bradberry notes, new business owners may become too attached to their ideas and lose flexibility, or become trapped by their passion for their venture and fail to recognize or accept problems or even negative feedback.
John Bradberry (photo left) recognizes the pitfalls that may ensnare the unwary startup business owner, and presents his proven secrets to increasing the chances of a business becoming a successful one. The author doesn't discount passion and belief entirely, but considers them both beneficial and potential obstacles to building the new company. For the author, the misguided concept that passion and belief and passion are enough to start a business, leads to failure. To counter the misconceptions of what is needed to create a viable startup, the author shares his six secrets to success:
* Founder readiness: Preparing for the entrepreneurial journey
* Pull of the market: Attach to the customer, not the idea
* Math Story: Charting a path to breakeven and beyond
* Startup agility: Executing with focused flexibility
* Integrity of communication: The secret startup weapon
* Staying power: Giving the venture time to take flight
For me, the power of the book is how John Bradberry combines a wake up call for myopic entrepreneurs, with proven advice for building a successful startup business. The auhtor presents his reasons for doubting the real world reliance on passion and belief as a basis for starting a company. The author also warns against starting a business when the would be entrepreneur is not ready or even suited for running a business. To counter these potential downfalls, the author shares his six secrets for startup success. The secrets are both practical and real world based in their application. Overall, the book provides an excellent bridge between reliance on passion to a strategy based on the market, finances, and management.
I highly recommend the insightful and idea filled book 6 Secrets to Startup Success: How to Turn Your Entrepreneurial Passion into a Thriving Business by John Bradberry, to anyone considering starting a business or to those would be entrepreneurs who have already taken the startup plunge, who are seeking a practical guide to getting their new company started on the right path to long term viability. This book dispels the myths, and removes the rose colored glasses, that so often end up causing the company failure.
Read the useful and very accessible book 6 Secrets to Startup Success: How to Turn Your Entrepreneurial Passion into a Thriving Business by John Bradberry, and discover how to start a successful business at the right time, and in the most viable way. This book will give your entrepreneurial startup the boost it needs to be the one of your dreams.
